Replacing the existing deck with an updated Old World–inspired patio was the homeowners’ long-held dream. The objective was to remove the deck and seamlessly integrate the covered concrete porch with a new patio nestled within the surrounding gardens. To accomplish this, the concrete porch was extended across the back of the house to the patio doors, creating a natural connection between the indoor and outdoor living spaces. The full length of this transition was designed as a wide, continuous step, enhancing openness and visual flow.
To achieve the desired Old World aesthetic, Techo-Bloc’s Villagio pavers were selected to evoke the timeless character of cobblestone. A blend of Champlain Grey and Chestnut Brown was used to harmonize the patio with the home’s exterior colors. Techo-Bloc’s Architectural Wall system, finished with Portifino caps, was incorporated to create elegant seating walls. Integrated lighting within the walls softly illuminates the pavers at night, enhancing both safety and ambiance while defining the garden spaces. Subtle uplighting on the surrounding trees completes the design, adding warmth and charm to the landscape after dusk.
